28 years ago, I set out on a mission to keep people healthy through preventive medicine.

When I noticed that my most unhealthy, downtrodden, stressed-out clients were coming from work in corporate environments, I made it my mission to work on a larger scale.

I started a corporate wellness business knowing that I could make a bigger impact from the inside of these large companies. So that the clients’ wellness goals wouldn’t be countered by their company’s surrounding culture.

At the time, it seemed to make perfect sense that improving the health of employees would cut healthcare costs and therefore save the company more than it cost. A win-win!

But something even more exciting happened…

As employees embraced wellness, the overall culture of the business changed. People were happier and calmer. Retention improved. Morale improved. Productivity was easy. And we saw an increase in top talent choosing the companies I was working with because they had wellness programs in place.

The myth that wellness programs were just a way to save on healthcare costs was being debunked in front of my eyes before it was officially debunked in 2019.
